2002 S2000   Posted Mon Aug 2, 04   6:44 AM

does anybody know what upgrades it would take to make a 2002 Honda S2000, do the quarter mile in 12.36s @ 109 mph?

you need to be making between 355 and 370hp to run 12.36 in the 1/4 mile with a '02 S2000. The curb weight with driver is about 2980lbs. Add a Vortech supercharger and some other goodies like a free-flowing exhuast and cams....you should get there. The Vortech supercharger is good for about 100hp so that should help raise the 240hp stock baseline.

definitely going to need forced induction and some upgrades, I haven't seen many vortech supercharged s2k's running under 13s, turns out high compression + forced induction + shitty pump gas = 13s quarters, maybe running higher octane (like 95+), quality tuning, lots of weight reduction, slicks, or dropping the compression on the motor would help. But in truth, I haven't seen many S2ks run fast quarters, even with superchargers. Sorry, if you really like em, try the FD RX-7, very similar layout, but more power stock and more power potential, plus they cost less to buy. Josh

I wouldnt go as far as to say its a similar layout. Chances are that if hes talking about an S2000, then he wont know what to do with a wankel besides look at it funny, but they definately do cost less, saw one on autotrader for like 15K and it only had 11,000 miles on it.

Well, the 13brew is just another beast in of itself, but, well, you know that already. When I said similar layout I meant two seater, front mid engine, rwd, 2800lbs, good handling and braking, similar hp (though not torque), traditional manual tranny, similar prices when new, good weight balance, etc.
