Too Rice? Opinions wanted...   Posted Tue Feb 18, 03   11:10 AM

well, i'm to the point on the koop now that i do realize how seriously fucking tractionless it is going to be. so i was in search of some wider tires...and the functionality to use them.

so here's the 4" Group IV Boxed Fenders....let me know what you think. it will allow me to run about a 10" wide tire front and rear. one set on ebay right now...including the air dam with integrated brake ducting which i would route to the heat exchanger for the intercooler.

what do y'all think? too rice? it would help to mention that the car will be a single solid color, probably orange, kelly green or red. something bright & 70's. the flares would make the car around 2600lbs...and i'm planning on having around 300-375rwhp.

i dont like it. it looks like some kind of concept prototype out of the 50's. i do like the front end of the car though.

That will look awesome, it may only get a ricer look if you use the wing, well at least a wing with mutliple layers. I would try and do a Andy Warhol type paint job, remember the "art" cars?

andy warhol huh? try alexander calder. here's the car:

thanks for the comments. i'm still solidly undecided. i think it looks cool too...and luckily with the mildly psycho whistle mill under the hood, it would most likely break out of the 'rice' category with a tap of the accelerator.

here's the calder car. my main concerns are having to cut the car up in order to do this, then ending up with a seriously chopped up only good for racing car. then again, it's a friggin rust bucket so it wouldn't matter too much.
and the scoops are to keep the car firmly planted on the ground. they worked well...just ask hans stuck (below), he won 4 gt-4 and one gt-5 championships with the csl.

Actually, I don't think it matters how your car looks it's not rice. You can have a Saturn with body kit, wing, fart tip ect ect, but if that thing is really as fast as it displays, then right on

ok now i'm seriously in a bind.

i know a guy who does replica fiberglass body parts for coupes. he doesn't have the group 4 fenders and told me if i could get a set he would professionally install them on my car for the ability to copy them.

the plot thickens, now if i buy them i also get installation for free (riveted on plus fiberglassed into the oem fenders to look right). i'm so fuggin torn about this. i really don't know if it is something i really want to do with my car. i personally think it looks devilish and would be great to cruise around in.

then the paint job would get REAL interesting too.

arghhhhh!

Shit dude, you got me. I love the way it looks stock, but it looks sweet with the flares to.... hmmm. Do you have some larger wheels lined up? It would look a little weird with the stock sized wheels with those bigass flares

I say go for it. It'll be real unique and I think you'll get plenty of stares to boot I guess you should sum it up as, am I going sleeper, or in your face kickass...

How fast is your connection? Make sure you are set up to bid then wait until 1 minute is left, at 4 minutes someone might "snipe" you. If you have a fast connection and you can refresh quickly then bid at 4 minutes and keep checking, remember you dont have to bid the exact next amount and if you win you wont pay your high bid unless someone else pushes the bids up. I usually go 50-100 higher to cover snipers depending on what I'm bidding for and the current price.
