what year is it? i think they call them 307s here

The dates that the VK Commodore was released was 1984 to 1986.

The one that my mate has is a Genuine HDT (Holden Design Team - Race team at that time) tuned 308.

very nice i know someone thats got a '85' EFI 6 cyl but it's bronze in colour, not a bad car.

if he wants it to have more power put the EFI manifold on it it will boost the power alot, i like the VK's one of my fav out of holden range

The 308 was the predecessor to the Chev ls1 5.7l that they have now in the Holdens

Factory Stock 308
Engine: 308 Cubic Inch Pushrod V8.
9.2:1 Compression Ratio with 101.6mm Bore and 76.8mm stroke.
Max Power: 177kw @ 4800rpm and 419Nm of Torque @ 3500rpm.
Induction: 4 barrel Rochester Carbuerettor and port matched inlet manifold.

so storm was referring to the v6 version of that '85 commodore? what was that, a 3.8l v6 or a 4.3l?

it might have been a 2.8 also. hey jacus, did you ever have those dual over head cam 3.4L engines in any holdens? it would have been between 91-96

ok another question. i hear that holden has come up with a new twin cam pushrod engine that may end up in some of the american cars...and that it's a lot like a hemi...any ideas about this?
