SRA (Safe Racing Association) Event @ Carlsbad   Posted Thu Jul 25, 02   2:25 PM

Safe Racing Assoc. is hosting an event at Carlsbad Raceway this Sunday July 28th.
Gates open at 8am, racing starts around 9:30am, racing till around 4pm.
Basically grudge racing, but with trophies for things such as fastest ET, fastest mph, fastest import/domestic, fastest female, best reaction time, etc.

Im not affiliated with either organization (Carlsbad or SRA) but this program is a great chance to have basically test and tune all day. There is usually a lower car count than on regular grudge saturdays.

Hope to see some new faces and cars out there.
We will be there with our 68 Chevelle.

They have an Outlaw Bracket race once a month, but the heads up special events vary. There is a pre 72 Nostalgia race on Aug 18th (Sunday).
They also have grudge drags every saturday from 1-6pm.

Where is Carlsbad at? I went to California speedway today( as a spectator), alot of good racing happening. And tomorrow there is going to be more. Is carlsbad set up real well? Is it better than califonia speed way and Rialto airport drags?

Carlsbad Raceway has been around since the 60's. It is 1/4 mile. Located in Carlsbad, Ca. North San Diego County...near Escondido.
Carlsbad is hard to explain...basically it is a very run down track , but the officials have been trying to take care of it and are doing a great job. Lots of great people. Here is a video of us racing and you can see the track...

hey june,

that's a damn nice chevelle. i didn't get up to my eyeballs in the specs on your site, but i'm assuming it acutally has brodix heads, and not just the valvecovers, right?

sure is nice... it's nice to see a bona-fide nhra member/owner/driver on this list for a change. i checked out your friends page with the bugs too. talk about crazy. those little monsters boggle my mind when they run up here in sacramento. doubt i've seen any of those people, but we've got a few reeeeeal fast bugs here too.

just another home mechanic and office bullshitter,

jason

Thank you, and yes, they are Brodix heads.

About the Bug guys, maybe you have heard of VW Paradise? Well, two of the guys listed on that site are from there. They, I believe, hold the world record for the fastest 4 cylinder with a time approximately 6.80's at over 200 mph. Great bunch of guys!

I know a bunch of guys that race up at Sac, we are originally from San Jose.
