SBC: 1966 Corvette 327 Short Block Never Bored...   Posted Tue May 13, 03   8:59 AM

I've got a '66 vette 327 short block that needs rebuild. ran prior to disassembly, but the oem '66 camshaft lobes had been worn down so far that it didn't run very well at all. upon removal, it was evident that two valves probably weren't opening but a mm or so.

cylinder wear has put the bore out to about .006 average per cylinder over stock bore.

also have a 283 block .080 over w/ steel crank - the two could make a mean little 302 roller motor that could spin up into the 9000 range.
