The only judgement it got was from the rust gods...and is that a flopping drivers side front tire/wheel i see? either way, goats don't come cheap, and when they do there's a lot of work involved. i've got a few spare sets of 400 heads if you're interested chad....i think one set are 6x's, the other is a wierd old school siamese exhaust port style setup with screw in rocker studs and some other goodies including some porting. i can't remember the casting code though...

it's a looker alright:

and yes, he really works on ferraris:

and porsches:

and another ferrari:

and some kind of wicked perversion of rice and ferrari, the ricerarri:

peace out,

the car isnt in that bad of shape compaired to the muscle cars i usually build thats why im expecting to have it driveing with about 4 days of working on it, the rust isnt to bad, it doesnt look like i will have to cut and weld any new body parts on it, just minor rust on it, yea that wheel looks all fucked up in that picture, its accually not bolted on, im takeing all that suspension off anyways to make room for my disk break conversion, so wheres dumbass and f&f boy at to comment on my job i dont work on farraris and porsches at?

right on. yeah that surface rust will come off with a scotch brite pad probably.

good luck with it. like i said, if you need any engine parts, let me know. my best friend is building a '78 firebird 400/superT10 and has been stockpiling stuff for a while now, he's certainly not going to need all of it.

oh, and it's good to hear that the front wheel/tire isn't actually attached to the car...that would be some ugly shit under there if it was....looks like a factory 5 cobra i ran against in autocross after it shit the lower control arm. fuckin tire treads pointing straight out the side of the car scraping the crossmember all over the tarmac...

what kind of disc brake convo are you running? aftermarket or gm retrofit?

heh...

i was talkin to a guy a few weeks ago that owned a 1968 GTO Judge.... funny... seeing as the Judge didnt come out 'til 1969.... he also "had" a 1993 Silverado with every weird modification you can do to a truck... i dont know much about trucks and i dont remember what that dude was sayin.... was too busy laughin at him to pay too much attention... but ya... it was funny... but i love the '67 GTOs and 69GTO Judges... BADASS cars...

have y'all ever noticed the best cars were the ones in 1969? Mustang Mach 1, 69 Camaro, 69 GTO Judge, etc., etc....

a friend of mine and i were talkin about that the other day....

And LS4...What crawled up your ass to make you like that eh? Why can't ya just leave him the hell alone. Maybe he works on them, maybe he just washes them. It's fuckin closer to a ferrari *ricerrari...That was funny shit* and a porche than YOU'll ever get. Just back the fuck down.

shit man motor and 5 speed manual (i have a shitbox auto on its way out right now) for like 2100 bucks.

when my car dies...we'll see. these engines are available all the time from japan and the importers.

it'd make a good fight fire with fire ricekiller...especially in my town where none of the ricers even do swaps...

Hey, now you're getting the idea of the Import Racing industry Same as B swaps in Honda's... we take the good engines that came in Japan models and swap our shitbox american counterparts

As for the Z, i'm liking the idea of a RB26DETT swap from a Skyline. Mounts pretty easy and the only mod on the engine would be relocation of the oil sump lines... other than the wiring of course

Re: gto parts new   Posted Wed Jan 22, 03   10:40 AM    [re: MrPeabody]

you shoudl be able to tell from the interior photos on his site. the easiest answer is to use a rack and pinion no power assist setup so that you can avoid any extra plumbing. that and make it a good rear steer rack and you'll be fine (ie the rack is behind the subframe).

anyway, racks are a hell of a lot more low profile than a box and track rod/idler arm setup. instead of having a bunch of arms and moving parts you have one big elongated horizontal cylinder (the rack) with moving rods out either side...

that's the answer if your car doesn't already utilize the rack and pinion system.

Psychology dumb ass, that's exactly why you say what you do. How much does someone chubby weight at 5'9? Me illiterate I don't think so! I am not absolutely sure I make more money then you but seeing how your mentality is toward people and your lack of knowledge of cars and then again I still make more money then people I talk to that are in theyíre 30s and 40s, need I say more? You say itís only a matter of time before I end up with nothing, how do you figure with the resume I have? I never CLAIMED to have 3 Rolex, lying doesnít get you any where especially when you say that to make me look like some kind of person I am not. Donít you think if I spent my money foolishly I would be driving some thing better then a town car? As for the driving race cars every day, well itís not every day but yesterday after I finished up fitting some 315-35-17s, took off the CIS fuel system and switched it to carburetors, put a different fuel pressure regulator in, mounted an oil cooler, blocked off some heating ducts, put a mod distributer in. I had to take it for a test drive down the street about eight times to make sure it had no cooling problems and the carbs would work fine going around corners at an excessively high amount of speed =) wahoo that was fun but not as fun as the TT 993 street/race car I drove the day before. I think we are all sure who is the chump here, chump.

To quote you "Donít you think if I spent my money foolishly I would be driving some thing better then a town car?" If you HADN'T spent your money foolishly you WOULD be driving something nicer than a Town Car. (Chad is now going ah,ah,ah) You do a good job of incriminating yourself, I also like the inferiority complex you got going on, you must be the "middle" child. Just so i'm not "confusing" you, that would mean your are between a younger and older brother/sister, not implying that you are a child. Man your making us post more to exactly explain ourselves so we dont confuse you.
Chill out Chadwick, quit trying to convince everyone of your "fantastic" job by shoving it down their throats, good that you have such a interesting job at such a young age. Take advantage of your job and get the most out of it, if it is all bull shit then go find another board to sell yourself cause I dont think anyone is buying it and I dont think too many here give a shit the way you are trying to prove it. Quit doing the jumping up and down routine of "look at me and what I do" and shut the hell up. Time to move on to something better, lets start working on your Goat and make it race ready for opening day at Banning.

Do you know what investments are? do I have to explain them to you? Elaborate all you want to cover your tracks, I didn't ask and I dont care, you can tell me anything you want and be anybody you want on this board, you live your fantasy and I'll live mine. Good to see your investing, just hope it wasn't with World Com. Bullshit is 99% of this board, why should yours/ours be any different?
I haven't tried to tackle upholstry work unless it is a pre made cover to fit, then it isn't that big of a deal. Just a bunch of hog rings and crimping them in the right order.
If you need it completely re -done from scratch like I do then i would try Lieras in Indio. They did my bug and did an awesome job, all new vinyl with cloth inserts and matching door panels. I will probably have them do the Chevy soon, I dont think the seams will make it another summer, mine is still the original interior. You can also try Hyland Auto Upohlstry in Palm Springs, he does a lot of the rods out here, all custom work.
Ahhh, I hope your frames dont look like the outside of your goat, and shouldn't you get this thing running first before you worry about the interior?

It's fun. Who tried to say what shop you are at? Besides I found out where it is and know some people there (us people in the auto business have a way of doing that) and I know what you REALLY do there.
At least your making progress on the goat, but it needs a vinyl top and 8 track player. Why tri-power? I'd go with a Dominator and single plane, very tunable and easier to get parts, but definitly not as retro.

Re: gto parts new   Posted Tue Feb 11, 03   6:03 PM    [re: BlownGTP]

Ya... the 67 GT500 in that movie is far from stock... first... they only made the 67 Shelbys in Red with White Racing and Shelby stripes... the fog lights AND the front air dam were not there, altho it did have foglights, but not where they are in the movie... the wheels were different,, and if I remembered what the car looked like better in that movie, I would name more... but its been a year or more since i saw that movie... but ya... IMO the 68 Shelbys were MUCH kewler... they moved the hood scoop up to the front, put on the T'Bird taillights, put Cobra markings instead of mustang.... moved the end of the fastback all the way to the back of the car... and produced the GT500 King of the Road edition my favorite car :-D

but ya... 68 was the best year for Shelby Mustangs... altho that movie created a LOT of hype for the 67s...
